Title of the paper: STREAM Education in Higher Education Contexts and Practices


Abstract: This review synthesizes ten recent studies on STREAM education in higher education, published between 2020 and 2025. It examines diverse methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and disciplinary applications, highlighting how STREAM integrates literacy, arts, technology, and values into STEM curricula. Findings reveal STREAM’s potential to foster creativity, metacognition, interdisciplinary collaboration, and affective engagement among learners and teachers. Emerging trends include technology-enhanced practices, values-based frameworks, and teacher preparation. Limitations and prospects are discussed to guide sustainable curricular innovation.

Bio: Dr. Lefkothea-Vasiliki Andreou is Head of the STREAM Lab at the University of Ioannina, Greece. She holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from University College London and a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. Her interdisciplinary research spans environmental humanities, neuroscience, and science education, with a strong emphasis on bridging scientific and humanistic perspectives.

Dr. Andreou’s current projects focus on innovative educational infrastructures, sustainability, and interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching. Through STREAM Lab, she has advanced award-winning initiatives that model transparency, collaboration, and international excellence in higher education.
